Get excited Griffins: Central Peel will be hosting its very own culture day on Monday, May 30, 2022. As high temperatures will hit us hard that day, I can’t think of a better way to greet the sun than to showcase our school’s diverse cultural population. For this, we have none other than our very own Heritage club to thank for giving us this opportunity to proudly express ourselves. To find out more details regarding the event, continue reading!
The club has announced that those participating in or observing the Culturama should meet at the cafeteria, during the lunch hour. The event involves not only a cultural dress-down day, but also a cultural fashion show that is open to any student wanting to walk down a runway to show off their cultural attire and represent their ethnic background. Just to remind everyone, we are asked to maintain an appropriate dress code throughout the course of the day. But wait, the event doesn’t stop there, the club revealed there will also be a photo booth set up where students can create memories with their friends by taking pictures with provided props.
This is surely an event to look forward to and to remember for years to come. It’s true it is still 4 days away, but I’m already planning the lehenga and jewelry I’ll be wearing! I’m not only excited to dress up myself, I also cannot wait to have a peek at our peers’ individual backgrounds. To be able to express and witness the diversity present at our own school is a gift I am so anxious to open. So mark the date Griffins, as culture day is fast approaching. See you all very soon, dressed in your cultural clothing of course!
